STEM (Robotics) Teacher
(Accept College Student, On-site Only, Part-time)
Vinci Robotics Academy is looking for part-time on-site STEM teachers. The main job is to teach middle and high schoolers robotics and STEM knowledge, and also lead the team to compete in the VEX Robotics competition.
ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for experienced STEM teachers to teach Robotics (VEX) and STEM knowledge (teaching content will be provided)

Coach and lead the VEX competition teams (grades 6 to 12, VEX EDR is similar to FTC).

Students are middle and high schoolers, each class has less than 10 students.

At least two classes weekly, two hours per class.

Class hours are on the weekends and some after school hours (4 PM - 6 PM).

Must be available to teach on one weekend day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Follow the curriculum to teach and be fully prepared before every class.

Know well the current technology trends. Tightly follow STEM and innovation news and topics. Discuss the latest innovation and technology topics with students in the class.

Use STEM knowledge and creativity to guide students to design and build competition robots. Give valuable suggestions to improve robot performance.

Help with robot programming.

Come up with the best competition strategies

Help the team to do practices.
REQUIREMENTS

Must love, understand and respect children and teenagers.

Preferred having experience of educational robotic systems (VEX, LEGO, or FIRST) and the competition experience.

Basic knowledge of STEM education.

Team management skills are required.

Must be patient, responsible and committed with excellent communication skills.

Basic knowledge of computer programming (C++ preferred).

Experience with using hardware tools and power tools.

Clean background check via online/live scan.

Teamwork and leadership skills are required.

Must be 16 years old and above, no diploma requirement. College degree is preferred.

Established in 2018, Vinci Robotics Academy is the first and the only VEX Robotics Club in the Lexington area. We are building a diligent and professional robotics club aiming to win the VEX Robotics World Championship. 2018 - 2019 season is our first time competing in the VEX Robotics Competition, our team made to the top 15 of over 300 teams in the New England Regional Championship. Vinci Robotics Academy is part of iSTEAM Academy, which is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Lexington, MA.
